The primary function of the J.D.S. is to ensure the security of the building as well as resident safety. Additional roles of the J.D.S. includes managing resident behavior, detention authorization, maintaining accurate legal documentation and conducting and developing new programs that emphasize access to physical and mental health care, recreation and religious services.
